Cut the cabbage into pieces.
Boil the cabbage in lightly salted water for about 15 minutes, until tender.
Drain the cabbage and save the cooking water.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in flour into an even mixture.
Gradually add cooking water and cream while stirring, until you have a smooth sauce.
Bring to a boil and let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes.
Add the cooked cabbage and gently fold together.
Season with ground nutmeg, salt and pepper before serving.
